Subversion repositories are available under HTTPS protocol at https://localhost:8443/svn/. Some instruction or clarification for jDeveloper (and Oracle SQL Developer also BTW) would be great. Use current project as example for setting-up a directory structure of Apache server configured as VisualSVN server on Ubuntu 12.04. Those plugins also have the advantage that when you do refactoring, they automatically record the renames and moves in SVN.
Similar issues with SVNKit-based products are solved by enabling JNA: Of course, there are Subversion plugins for Visual Studio like AnkhSVN or VisualSVN, with the latter already using TortoiseSVN for many of its UI.
